Sunday: 10:00 am to 3:30 pm
Walter Nash Center
The public are invited to view the displays, and to enter items into the show. The show will feature a selection of beautiful begonias by the Wellington Begonia Club.
We will also have a range of quality plants for sale at attractive prices.

Member talks
The Society is holding a variety of member talks between the gap in show dates between the Begonia Show in February 2023 and the Spring Show held in September 2023. All talks will take place at the Kereru Room, Walter Nash Centre, Tocker Street, Taita
March Talk
'Glenside Halfway House and Historic Lower Hutt Gardens’ by Claire Bibby. Saturday, 25th March 2023 at 1:30pm
Claire is the president of the Glenside Progressive Association and a key figure behind the preservation and maintenance of the historic gardens next to Glenside Halfway House.
April Talk
‘All About Begonias’ by Geoff Osgood. Saturday 15th April 2023 at 1:30pm
Geoff Osgood is a long term member of the Wellington Begonia Club and has a wealth of experience in gardening, pest control and sharing his knowledge with others.
June AGM and Talk
HVHS AGM will take place on Sunday 18 June 2023 at 1.30pm.
This meeting will be followed by a talk on ‘Indoor Plants’ by Cam, from The Foliage Studio. Cam and his business partner, has created his own plant-based business.
July Show & Tell
A discussion on anything related to Gardening, combined with a Winter Flower Display. Activity presented by members of the Hutt Valley Horticultural Society 22nd July 2023 at 1:30pm
This is a chance for society members to show off what beautiful plants they possess that are thriving in winter. It's a reminder that some of the plants in NZ are at their best, in the colder times of the year.
August Talk
'Discovering the gardens of Alfred Buxton’ by Dr Clare Gleeson. Saturday 19th August 2023 at 1:30 pm.
Alfred Buxton is described as the most significant landscape gardening in New Zealand in the first half of the 20th century by the Te Ara Encylopedia of New Zealand.
